Companies awarded Defense Production Act contracts to produce over 39 million N95 masks over the next 90 days are:  3M ($76 million), O&M Halyward ($29 million) and Honeywell ($27.4 million).

“The increased production will ensure the U.S. Government gets dedicated long-term industrial capacity to meet the needs of the nation,” said the Department of Defense in a recent press release.

3M said it will add 78 million masks within six months, with O&M Halyward and Honeywell producing 25 million and 38 million accordingly in the same time frame.

The Defense Production Act (DPA) Title III is a 1950 law giving the President of the United States broad authority to ensure timely availability of essential domestic industrial resources to bolster national defense and homeland security.
